Casey Anthony – NOT GUILTY??????
This story has made national headlines and much watercool talk and monday quarterbacking. However, in America (which we just celebrated our freedom) we are innocent until proven guilty. Casey Anthony was prosecuted and juged by a jury of peers and found NOT guilty. This is going to create quite a buzz.
Here is an excerpt from ABC News
Prosecutors built a case of circumstantial evidence that documented how Casey Anthony moved in with her boyfriend Tony Lazzaro shortly after Caylee disappeared, partied at clubs, took part in a "hot body" contest, and got the phrase "bella vita" — or beautiful life — tattoed on her shoulder in the month after Caylee died and while her mother was pretending she was still alive.
As her lies unraveled, it became apparent that Casey Anthony had created a fictional world in which she made up a job at Universal Studios and a dozen people who were friends, co-workers, lovers, babysitters and even Caylee's playmates.
Jurors watched hours of jailhouse tapes in which Casey Anthony elaborated on her lie about the babysitter, offering extensive details about this fictional nanny.
Much of the case turned on forensic evidence found in the trunk of Casey Anthony's Pontiac Sunfire. Prosecutors brought in experts in the arcane specialty of the smell of death to prove that an odor in the trunk of Casey Anthony's car was that of human decomposition. Casey Anthony's lawyers argued that the foul smell in Casey Anthony's car trunk was from rotting garbage, not a rotting body………
Even with all of this – She was found NOT guilty by the jury. Is this another OJ trial? What is your opinion?

as a Pinellas County resident it was very damaging to our reputation as citizens. on the side of the laws that are in place that ANYONE has available to them the state did not present enough evidence to prove “beyond reasonable doubt ” the evidence that is required to make it First degree murder. we as citizens truly need to clearly understand how the jutice system does work…with all it’s flaws. Does it make it justice for little Caylee…NO. but the legal system did what it was designed to do.give the person their day in court. pray for the family
It is news like this that really gets me conflicted….was justice served? I don’t think so, but only God knows.
The jury has to be convinced beyond reasonable doubt of the guilt of the accused to render a guilty verdict.
Its the same guideline used in the OJ trial.
What is obvious to me is that the prosecution did not present enough evidence to make the jury believe beyond reasonable doubt that Casey was guilty. All the evidence presented were circumstancial.
The defense presented enough evidence to put doubt into the minds of the jury.
As with OJ, Casey will face God’s wrath in due time.
She needs our prayer, not condemnation because if she really murdered her child, unless she is mentally unfit, her act will torment her no end and essentially condemned her.
