CYBER SECURED Seal

This seal offers certification of adherence to a baseline set of cybersecurity best practices established by kidSAFE, in partnership with TÜV Rheinland.

Achieved and maintained through annual cyber security testing and (if necessary) remediation of gaps, display of the kidSAFE CYBER SECURED Seal (once earned), and commitment to resolve any relevant consumer-reported concerns.

Who is this Seal for?

This best practices seal is intended for any online product designed for use by children, and that carries additional data security risks due to the sensitivity or volume of the data collected (e.g., user-generated content, large platforms, etc.) or the complexity of features offered by the product (e.g., chat messaging, connected hardware, AI, etc.). Earning this badge requires the online product to undergo and pass more advanced technical cybersecurity testing, and will help protect your valuable business assets by mitigating the risk of data security breaches. It will also help you meet the data security related requirements mandated under COPPA. This seal is ideal for the following types of products/companies.

Big Tech and Large Enterprises

Larger corporations with additional regulatory risk (e.g., big tech companies, large platforms, etc.)

Connected Devices

Products with Bluetooth, Wi-Fi, or network connectivity (e.g., tablets, phones, smartwatches, geotracking devices, game consoles, robotics, AI toys, audio players, smart speakers, etc.)

Social and UGC Products

Apps and websites with social or community features (e.g., virtual world, social networking, user-to-user chat or messaging, public sharing of user-generated content, live tutoring, etc.)
